I bought this to reduce my phone time which it does so successfully. A great bonus is the great audio quality (after taking the time to build a discography on it). I run Rockbox on it with a 512Gb card and it works flawlessly!

I'm old and that's a fact.

Long before the Bose 901's became fashionable my friends and I built 'Sweet 16's' in my dad's basement. Places such as Radio Shack and Allied were the depository for our paper route money and weekends filled with electronic projects replaced Saturday morning cartoon shows.

Nothing then was miniature and soldering became an artform...interrupted only by unintended wood burning and calls to lunch. A crystal radio came to life when clipped to a cast iron radiator and no one could have dreamed of a transistor or the revolution it brought.

Give a teenage boy a lug wrench and his interest will turn to cars. Before he can cruise Main St. on a Friday night there has to be music. A 1950's AM car radio had tubes, weighed about 8 pounds and was over 14" long. Perhaps the coolest addition was a 'REVERB Kit' (sorry kids, you will have to look that one up!)

Life brought 8 tracks, cassettes, boom boxes and the Walkman. Imagine, an FM radio and tape player all-in-one. The real advance was brought to life in the form of an iPod. 1000 songs at your fingertips. It lasted more than 20 years -

When it was time to say goodby to my old friend I looked for one that would be (with headphones) a close match to the sound of my living room equipment.

Nothing portable can come close to the sounds of Mcintosh amp & preamp, Bowers & Wilkins speakers, and a Marantz 6300 turntable, and no one should expect it to.

I am a runner - my kit needs to be lightweight and reliable. That the H20 Ultra is also beautiful is truly the ribbon on the package! I wear Bone Conducting Bluetooth Headphones so I can hear outside of the music.

In terms of cost the H20 Ultra is about mid BUT, the sound quality is vastly superior to many in the upper price brackets.

I'd have no problems recommending this and would indeed purchase this again!

This is a really well made player. It has great sound. It was easy to download all of my music with plenty of room for more. I highly recommend this player.

I recommend this player. Versatile and well made. This was a great replacement for my aging Apple Classic iPod. A few observations.CARD STORAGE: I have 8,000 songs loaded on a memory card. I did not use the OTG feature. Note: The player relies on the memory card for storage. There is no onboard storage on the player itself. I needed a memory card reader to load files on the card from my PC. Don't lose the card unless you have a spare!REPEAT ALL: Function works well for songs, albums and artists. Hard to figure out how to do until I read the FAQ,SOUND QUALITY: Very good. I have both FLAC and AAC files loaded. Both sounded great. I have picky hearing. AAC sounded surprisingly good. I used a $20 pair of headphones. Never felt the need for a more expensive pair. Sound can be adjusted with an equalizer, replay gain, low/high gain adjustments. The unit also doubles as a DAC for your PC. Very nice!BUILD QUALITY: Excellent. Surprisingly hefty for its size.

This is truly a quality mp3 player. Great battery life, amazing sound, durable. The "shuffle" option actually works even if you have thousands of songs. You do need to transfer the songs to the player while connected to a PC for the song meta data to register.

This player sounds excellent. There is a brightness control for outside. The other is you can not have the controls( exceot volume), active with the screen off if you want, it IS in your pocket, but still woulda like that feature for shirt pocket use. It sounds equally nice with my sony 7506s and my Koss porta pros. I use the porta pros more the Sonys are too heavy.Thr EQ has a lot of bands, and the presets are also effective.

Bought this for my18 yr old nephew. He is a guitarist and wanted a DAP. This exceeded his expectations! Versatile, robust, and delivers high quality sound.

First shot at a DAP and not disappointed. I found myself without music on my RedMagic 9Pro because the music apps I purchased no longer worked (RedMagic does not have a dedicated music player). So I looked at this one. Downloaded my iTunes songs, created playlists, set a dedicated equalizer and enjoyed the music of The Beatles and Twisted Sister with great sound quality. Sometimes when listening to the endless artists, I worry about the battery life but I find myself worrying about nothing.You can use Bluetooth or wired headphones but look into IEM's made to accentuate the sound quality of what music was meant to sound like. The ease of use of this DAP means you don't have to fiddle with anything except the volume in the shape of a knob on the sound for volume control.

I upgraded to this after my trusty HiFi Walker H2 started getting wonky (that's a technical term) from merely being dropped from about 6 feet. Alcohol may have been a factor. I do not blame the product.I loved the H2, but the H20 in my opinion has noticeably better sound. I have a number of headphones and earbuds and the H20 drives them all with no problem, even some older 250 ohm Beyerdynamics. I've run the H20 through a couple of different portable amps and the sound becomes so good I feared causing a disruption in the time/space continuum.I was unsure if I would like the touch screen interface, but I do. I don't use bluetooth for any reason at all so I can't address that.The H20 doesn't hold your hand through the setup, which isn't really all that difficult. If you get confused there are plenty of places on line to go for help. With the H20, not just generalized confusion.Some reviewers have made high-pitched noises of complaint that it scratches easily. Fine scratches do not change the sound quality of the unit, and since it rides round in my pocket all the time I don't really notice scratches, and don't really care.Bottom line: to my ears, this is a fantastic device.
